I am back on the hair growth/health wagon, though I have been gone for a minute I can truly say that I am back. Expect to see loads more posts from me on how to achieve long and healthy hair. From previous posts I can see that I have kept you all updated on all the hurdles my hair has been through; from me cutting it off a lot at one point during and after pregnancy, to post partum shedding I experienced recently and also damage to my edges. I can now say that post partum shedding is behind me and my edges are back to life. My hair has also started growing back out.  I thought it was only fair that I share a picture of the current length of my hair. This is a picture of my hair after I got it relaxed on the 18th of May 2015 and you will see that the length is steadily coming back. The comparison picture is of my hair after I got my previous relaxer on 20th February 2015 and trimmed it. So this is 3 months of hair growth.

Although my ends look a bit worse for wear, I did not trim them as I intend to baby them and trim at my next relaxer. So I have set a few hair goals for myself which I will follow until my next relaxer and I shall definitely keep you all updated on the progress of my hair. I would focus on my ends and my scalp. These are the rules I shall follow:

Oil my scalp every day or every other day. I will be using my Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil- Extra Strength Formula on my scalp. I would also focus on using this oil on my edges and I intend to give myself a mini scalp massage each time.

Moisturise and seal my hair every day or every other day. When I am moisturising/sealing my hair I would be sure to focus on my ends and roots to promote hair growth and prevent breakage as much as possible.

I will try to minimise the use of heat in the form of blow dryers on my hair to once a month (except when I use the cool air option). I have been addicted to blow drying for some time now because I do not have to wait all day for my hair to dry however I will either air dry or just put my hair up in about 8 flexi rods or less and use my Softhood Hair Dryer Attachment (as a form of indirect heat). See my review on this product here if you have not already.

I will make sure to wash and deep condition my hair every week or every other week (however I will try my best to do weekly deep conditions). When deep conditioning I would be sure to focus on my roots and most especially on my ends.

Always make sure my hair is in a protective style. I will ensure my ends are always protected.

I will try as much as possible to do a pre shampoo/hot oil treatment before shampooing my hair. I will use any oil I have at hand.

You all can definitely participate in this hair challenge as well and let us see how well our hair thrives together.

Till next time my loves.

TONKABELLE, xoxo
