Hello everyone I am back with another wash day post. First and foremost, I need to state what a successful wash day means to me, a successful wash day means a wash day which resolves some of your hair problems and leaves you with hair that feels nicely moisturised and conditioned. I have been experiencing more breakage and shedding than I would have liked and I can finally attribute it to the ORS Replenishing Conditioner (New Formula) I bought. I do not know whether I got a bad bottle or a fake one because the product was so clumpy (see photo below) and had no slip whatsoever and I was using it for about 6 weeks see my previous wash day post here where I complained about the amount of breakage/shedding I was getting. This time around however I had quite a successful wash day in that the problem of breakage/shedding of my hair finally reduced.
Now the ORS Replenishing Conditioner has always been one of my staple products especially to provide slip but this bottle was causing my hair to break/shed excessively. So I did something I have not done in a long time I decided not to use my ORS Replenishing Conditioner in a wash day and my hair thanked me for it. I feel like I have actually had a mini set back since more hair than I would have wanted was constantly breaking or shedding ever since my relaxer day six weeks ago when I started using that conditioner. Anyway I am happy that things are now under control and I will simply continue treating my hair as I am only 6 weeks post and half way into my stretch so I can still gain some length and thickness back to my hair which is my goal for my next relaxer.
Anyway for this washday I decided to first pre poo I was able to leave the pre poo in for 2 hours. I used my usual pre poo of V05 Silky Experiences Shea Cashmere Conditioner and I sealed it in with my Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil. I divided my hair into about 8 sections applied the conditioner and then sealed in the conditioner with my oil, I did a mini detangle with my fingers however I did not have a lot of tangles even though I had not washed my hair for 2 weeks. I then covered my hair with a plastic/nylon bag and a shower cap.
My hair had a lot of product build up so I decided to clarify with my ORS Aloe Shampoo I cannot tell you how much my hair loves this stuff. Sometimes I wonder if it is a conditioning clarifying shampoo because although I feel it clarifies my hair, it also conditions, softens yet strengthens and detangles it. It is one of my favourite shampoos to use.
I then deep conditioned my hair for about 4 hours (with my nylon/plastic bag and shower cap), I would have left the dc mix in for longer but this dc mix was dripping everywhere. 45 minutes out of those 4 hours was spent under my curl formers hooded dryer attachment. I used a deep conditioner mix of Wura’s Secret Deep Conditioner, Queen Helene Cholesterol Deep Conditioner, ORS Hair Mayonnaise, Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil, Coconut Oil and Olive Oil, I then sealed in the conditioner with Coconut Oil (this is my oil rinsing step).
I was quite worried about what the results of this deep conditioning mix might be this was because I felt that I would have no slip as a result of failure to include the ORS Replenishing Conditioner and it was also my first time using the Queen Helene Cholesterol Deep Conditioner. I was however pleasantly surprised that the opposite was the case. After 4 hours I took off the nylon bag and plastic cap and I detangled my hair with the conditioner still in it using my wide tooth comb. I was so happy about the amount of slip I had, my hair also had less breakage/shedding. I then rinsed out the deep conditioner mix with cold water.
I towel dried my hair thoroughly, oiled my scalp with Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil and applied my leave-ins, Cantu Shea Butter, Shea Moisture Curl & Style Milk and then I sealed everything in with Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil. I was a bit heavy handed with the products so my hair felt quite weighed down. However apart from that I am happy to report that my shedding/breakage reduced dramatically with this wash day.I then divided my hair into 4 sections and proceeded to air dry in 4 pony tails so that my hair could air dry faster.
In the morning I took out the pony tails and detangled again with a wide tooth comb I was happy to see only a normal amount of shed hairs. I put my hair up in a bun and off to work I went.
Hope you all enjoyed reading this post; please share how your wash day went or your experience with any of the products I used. I would also like to thank everyone that takes their time to out to read my posts, please send me an email if there is anything you would like me to post on or you can also leave a comment with your post suggestions below.

Girl that new growth is poppin! I've been wigging so no wash day for me this week, but I used TGIN twist and define cream on my little cousin and so far it seems to be another good product from the line!

My wash days are going much better since removing some of my relaxed hair. Have a-ha moments and figuring things out is so rewarding.

My recent wash day was not the best, I lost a lot of hair, but thank God it's not really showing as much as I thought it would. I was told it was due to me stressing out my hair after just giving birth. I guess I need to lay low with the braiding. I hope to have a good wash day soon 🙁

I'm relieved that you figured out what product was causing the breakage chica! It's great that you listen to your hair instead of just going with the flow. There should be a law against changing the formula of our FAVORITE hair products! LOL.
Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica!

I'm happy for you that your breakage has stopped. You may need to change the source of the hair breakage that caused your breakage. I always like the shine of your hair.
